About Us
Crutches to Haiti is a charitable relief organization based in Apopka, Florida, near Orlando. It was established to provide relief to the amputees of Haiti as a result of the January 2010 earthquake, by organizing local collection drives in Central Florida for used crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs and braces. Our freight forwarder partner is a ministry which works with relief agencies in Haiti and also ships food and goods to the poor in over 92 other countries. All shipments from Crutches To Haiti go directly to Port -au-Prince, usually by air from Sanford International Airport. Goods are received and distributed to the needy without delay and without charge. No payments go to anyone in Haiti in order to be able to do this.
In addition to holding local collection drives, Crutches To Haiti is also assisting other groups and organizations across the country to do the same by providing information about how to get goods to Haiti, how to perform and promote collection drives and locate collection partners, and also by listing collection sites at no charge on our website, so that their local donors can more easily locate them. Crutches To Haiti has partnered with worthy organizations and generous volunteers to provide this service at no charge.
